Methodology

This page explains how work on the material is organised. The limits of what is written are stated here directly.

How a topic comes up

Topics are suggested by practice, not by search volume. Every conclusion rests on a figure that can be checked independently.

Limits of the approach

What is set out here is the general rule, not the analysis of one matter. A reader's situation may differ from the one described, and only a specialist who knows the details can check that.

Reviewing what is published

We come back to a text when the figures or rules it describes go out of date. The date is accompanied by a note on what exactly changed.
